S10/Ad trans hump
Hey guys, to keep my project going I decided to put the s10 motor in my truck. Plan is later to put in ls1, I want to go ahead and do the trans hump. Cab is three inches off frame. Can you guys give me an idea how high, wide ,and long a hump I will need?

Re: S10/Ad trans hump
I'm not sure you even need a hump with that much room. I'd put the engine and trans in and then figure out exactly what I had to do and if at all possible make it a bolt in using the original cut out for the outside shape of it.

Re: S10/Ad trans hump
there is a good thread that just discussed this, found here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...8&postcount=26 I have linked you to maybe the best tunnel in that thread, Husseys. as far as your cab being 3 inches off the frame, if measuring from the flat floor to the top of the frame that is actually mounted pretty low and you will need a small hump. what trans will you be running? a 4L60e (or 700R4, which is the same trans as a 4l60e aside from the electronic differences) is smaller than a 4L80e. most "ls swap" guys really mean an lm or lq truck motor and those come with 4L80e trans. it comes down to setup, how far from the firewall will you mount your eventual motor, and how big is the trans? in most cases the tunnel hussey shows will work, I have a 4l60e with the stock v6 and a very small hump (done for carpeting ease). If I was running a V8 it would be a larger hump, and a 4l80e, larger still. the good news is that if you do it like hussey, its removable and you can just make another one when you swap.
