Re: 1991 electric suburban gauges into a square ls swap
Yessir, that's what I have on my swap. I bought an adapter on ebay so I didn't have to modify my harness (it had a 2 wire CTS plug). The adapter plugs into the 3-wire plug, has a small lead to tie into your gauge wire, and then you plug the 2 wire harness plug into the adapter.

Re: 1991 electric suburban gauges into a square ls swap
Just to clarify, only the 90-91 K-5's, Suburbans, and R/V trucks got the electronic speedo. My 89 K-5 was an oddball year because they came with the newer NP241C but still ran a cable speedo so I wound up having to pull the gauge cluster from a 90 Suburban for my swap.

Here was the description for the auction: LS1 LS2 LS6 Swap Retrofit Coolant Gauge Wiring Harness and the seller was tpi_parts They may add it again later, not sure. It's possible they don't offer it anymore. |

Re: 1991 electric suburban gauges into a square ls swap
I have heard of doing it that way. I went the way I did because it was free. I double checked my sender was 1/8 so I tapped it 1/4 and used a bushing. You can get the sender in 1/4 and eliminate the bushing too.
