Exhaust manifolds
I bought a new set of Exhaust manifolds a few years back and finally went to put them on. I am putting an engine in my project truck and the parts truck has turned out to be just crap everywhere.
My new manifolds turn back at a 45 degree angle and the old ones went straight down. Which is correct for a 4x4, or does it matter? My guess would be the old ones came out of a station wagon or something just as foul. Thanks in advance.

im pretty sure that 4x4's used the straight down ramhorns. i would go check for you, but my truck is buried under 8" of snow that we got in the surprise storm last night! brr

Straight down on the 4x4s. But it did change sometime in the mid 70s to 80s as my 85 K5 had one straight down and one back at a 45 degree angle w/ a heat riser valve.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm ![]() |
