Re: do they make air bags for the rear

www.airliftcompany.com try giving them a call I remember seeing someone on here has them on there 71 or 72. I have them on my daily driver cause I lowered the rear 2 inches and can tell you they work like they should when you when you tow, great product for the price and easy to install.

Re: do they make air bags for the rear

I've had airlift bags in two cars and on my 2006 C1500. They work well.

Read the instructions and don't run them with too little air in them...

Re: do they make air bags for the rear

I checked that site (www.airliftcompany dot com) and they have a series of vehicle selection dropboxes on their page -

For my 1970 C10 they do not have a product or even that vehicle listed.

Seems odd - they do have them for the Vans G20 G30 etc of that year and many other vehicles but not specifically the C10 (or GMC half-ton) with coil springs or otherwise.

I tried calling them but couldn't get through so maybe it is a custom order for my particular year and col spring set up.

I did notice that Autozone is their retailer - probably special order but likely pretty quick lead time.

Actually I wouldn't mind the bags on the front springs as well and initially without the on-board compressor because I could add that later and in the meantime just use an external compressor to set the spring rate.

Re: do they make air bags for the rear

In the olden days GM could sell you an under-hood compressor along with air shocks (and heck, add an air horn while you're at it). Here's some of the factory pieces, for the curious.

I'm still searching for "the" reservoir tank or something similar enough. I'll plumb it in all at the same time, I think.
