Re: My Red '70 Chevy Stepside

Pile of parts to scrap:

The drop is 1" front and 3" back.

New Moog ball joints (upper and lower) and Moog tie rods (outer and inner and adjusting sleeves).

Next step is install the new steering column (colum shift instead of floor) and install the new steering wheel and then get an alignment!!

Re: My Red '70 Chevy Stepside

Over the last couple weeks I installed the new column shifter and linkage (had to remove the manual crossmember first) and also installed the new steering wheel! I should be getting an alignment this weekend and then I just have to put the rest of the wood bed back in and she will be road ready

yep, soon enough

she has a pair of wire cutters in that pic and if you look close enough, a wrench in the front breast pocket too!

You could easily recover the cost of the year membership by selling your spare parts.

X2
$15 for a 6 month subscription, or $25/year.

Re: My Red '70 Chevy Stepside

Really nice truck, similar to the one I just bought in April. Mine's a 69 which is what I wanted simply because I had bought a new one in 1969. Mine has the 6 cyc with automatic. Mine needs a paint job, but I'm just going to drive it and enjoy. I'm in the process of replacing all the door rubber including everything around the windows to keep them from rattling. But this only takes a few days and it's back on the road again. Drive it and enjoy it, it's a nice truck.

Thanks! And congrats on your new truck. The rubber on my truck is all hardened, but it doesn't leak anywhere so I'm not going to touch it!

Re: My Red '70 Chevy Stepside

I like your truck and your approach to the build.
Small steps at a time and each job accomplished builds confidence for the next.
Before you know it you'll be doing the rust repairs yourself.
The steering wheel looks great in there too.
