blower motor
I have a question. I just picked up a non a/c blower motor from auto zone for my 68. The one they sold me has a vent hole in it. From what I can tell this motor was used for a number of years, and some vehicles have a vent tube that plugs into the motor. Should I take it back and find a different one or just plug the hole? If I should plug it what should I use? Thanks!

If you can't find a vent tube You could plug it. The vent helps keep it cool and prolongs the life of the motor. Auto parts store or hardware store should have plugs.... LockDoc

Re: blower motor
I have the vent tube on my motor, but it's just unplugged. Is a line supposed to be attached to it? I didn't see it in the manual

Re: blower motor
The vented motors have Aluminum copper coated windings , the non vented motors have solid copper windings .
I would not plug the vent ,I think by doing so it would reduce the motors life span. |

Re: blower motor
Yeah I kinda thought I shouldn't plug it. They guy at the store said it should be fine. Guess I need to start searching for a tube at the local junk yards. As usual thanks for all the great advice.
