Front Cab Support Frame Mount

Hey all,

On the cab support that is riveted to the frame, how large a hole should it have on top for the bolt to go through? I took my cab off along with the old crushed rubber bushings and found that one side has a 2.5" diameter hole and the other side has a 1.75" diameter hole. My guess is this was caused by years of rusting and rot. I think they should only be about .75" in diameter or maybe .5" to allow the bolt to go through and for small alignment adjustments.

Comments?

This is my 61 4x4 frame but should be the same as the cab has some adjustment when aligning up the fenders/bed etc. Disregard the switch, it was used for eng break-in (no cab on the tk)

Re: Front Cab Support Frame Mount

then you will just have to cut the top section out and put a new piece in. 1 1/4" hole saw and a bit of clean up to the desired size and you are away

Hope you recover well Ron.
Had a triple bypass in April and still thawing out from the freezing. Be careful, but enjoy yourself till you start feeling better.

I was feeling better before i was out of recovery. I do have to stay way from work for 6 weeks. this sure answered a lot of other things. why I have been so tired for the last 4 or 5 years. no get up and go. it was a complete blockage on what they call the electrical side. My heart was beating at 35 beats PM. the cardiac doc said that I wouldn't have been here if I wasn't in such good shape elsewhere

Glad you're feeling better. Watch out when your wife revs up the microwave!

thks you guys
Those have all been eliminated years ago.
one has to keep any electric power devices twelve inches away, not use a welder over 160 amps and be aware where any under 160 are. it is all common sense cell phone on right ear and mounted on right hip. metal detectors are a real no no. it is interesting. I had real problems just in the week before climbing the 19 steps up to the mezzanine in my shop. to take deep breaths in bed in the 4 hour recovery period was remarkable
