Re: Chrome Cruise Control Lever

I did it. It takes patience. First you take the button off and there is a star washer inside the handle holding the switch in. You remove it very carefully. Then move the switch out of the lever pushing it out by pushing the wiring from the bottom of the lever. Then unsoder the wires from the switch. Make sure you know what color goes to which pole for reatachment purposes. Half way there. Then to remove the plastic end ( what I did) you take a pipe that the inside is the diameter of the shaft and not too stiff. Cut a slice into it and slide it over the metal shaft. It's not easy. Coney the shaft with tape to avoid scratching. Then lightly tap the tube till the knob comes off. It is just pressed on. The reason you need to slice the tube is so it slides around the flat part. You may need to get a bit creative making the tube. I had chrome tech USA do the chrome on the knob and my gauge bezel. I was happy. Reassembly is easy if you can take it apart. I should have taken photos when I did this . Sorry for the long post.
