Battery inside cab

For those who have your battery mounted in the cab could you post some pics of your setup?

I used a small Odyssey battery and put it under a Glide Engineering bench seat that tilts up and forward to give access to underneath. In this photo, the battery is under the black cover on the passenger side:

I was going to mount mine inside the cab, behind the seat, with the gas tank relocated. I decided to mount it elsewhere though so I guess I'm not much help. However, from my research, I learned it's important of properly vent it. I was looking at using a battery box like this:

That a pretty neat setup. But isn't that battery rather small?

Hell, I can't even find it, but I'll tell you, I used a small Odyssey battery in my 27 roadster under the seat. It doesn't look impressive, except for the price, but it's been 5+ years and the thing is still going strong. Only a 5.0 and no power accessories but it sits for months at a time with no battery tender and it has never failed to start and run.(I'm looking for some wood to knock on right now.)

I've been thinking seriously about putting the same model of battery that is in my 2000 Cad DTS (goes under the back seat) behind the seat where the tank normally would go. That battery and several similar to it has/have a vent tube that is run though a small hole in the floorboard to vent the battery under the car.

I wouldn't want to run a battery this small in winter temperatures, but this truck is pretty much "fair weather only." Fires right up every time! The little Odyssey batteries have a great reputation, and I've been very happy with mine. Also, it is a sealed AGM battery so don't have to worry about keeping it right-side-up or venting.

Great advice on the AGM. I did some digging and found some regular sized units online at various parts suppliers ranging from $165 & up and some orders qualify for a 20% discount on top of that. I looking to get one & mount it behind the seat.

i have run the battery behind the seat in my 58 since 2010 with no problems
the panel is next to the subwoofer and held in with velcro

I have been considering placing mine behind the seat when I get to that point. I think it might be a good Idea to put it in a battery box just to keep think clean. Something like this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-S...ingMethod=p13n

I've mounted mine inside and it works well. ease of getting to was my reasoning and a clean firewall.

I've settled on putting my battery inside cab with an odyssey that doesn't require venting. In typical torchlight fashion his setup inspires. I believe this is his setup:

With just a 3 inch rise it will fit beautifully behind the stock rear seat riser which I still have installed and will be protected from the seat when pushed all the way back on the seat tracks.

I'm just not sold on the size. I mean shoot its for a motorcycle! Here are 2 more options but I'm gonna have to haul my seat back up to the garage and slide it all the way to the back and take measurements. I don't want my seat hitting the battery! This one will sit 7" high but it has more cranking amps (330) vs the tiny 680 (170).

The PC1200 is the one I would feel the most comfortable with (550 CCA) and will sit slightly lower at just under 7". But man the 3" height of the small battery when laid flat sure does look good!

I have been considering fabbing a well under the seat to mount a conventional battery without it standing so tall. It would be under the bench seat with half its height below the floor. Any thoughts?
