Need pictures of V8 zbar, changing fr 6cy
I want to change out the 292 I have for a 283 in my 67. I want to keep the 3speed, I need to see some close up pictures of the V8 clutch pedal assembly so I can see what I need to get. Ps if any of you guys switched to automatic and have that v8 zbar stuff lying around just let me know. Thanks

Sorry I dont have pics but it is a fairly simple swap. I just did it not too long ago. One side of the Z-bar bolts to the frame and the other side rides on the ball screws into the block. Your putting the 283 in the I6 position correct? If not you will need to slide the housing and tranny foward and get a longer driveshaft.

zbar
I plan on putting it in the same place. I got another 67 that was a v8 truck that I'll probably pull the motor stands out of and put them in place. From what I understand the 3speed is in the same place in either 6cyl or V8 truck..

Yes it is, with the sbc mounts it will bolt right up to the 3 spd, I had to fab a Rad shroud b/c mine ran a tad hot with the flex fan sometimes sitting in traffic.

Davidh,
Do you still need a picture of a z-bar? Let me know if you do and I will take a pic and post it. Jim |

I think there is a extension bracket that bolts to the motor on the 6 cyl set-up. And the ball is bolted through that. Screw the v-8 ball directly into the block and use the same z bar.
