Pete the one on my Highlander is original to the truck. Its not rusted and still looks real nice except its 44 years old. There is still lots of spring pressure on it yet. If you think it may work for you you can have it as I have a new cap waiting to go on my truck but just haven't installed it.

Pete, the cap I have is a RC29, it is 15 psi. I forgot to get pics last night. I do not have the box. $22 shipped. If you want pics I can get them tonight after work.

Thanks,
Mark

Re: WTB: Radiator cap NOS or excellent OEM used for 1972

Hi Pete,

Do a search on Joe Perri radiator cap restoration. He does radiator cap restorations for the NCRS Corvette guys as well Chevelle, Camaro etc. He probably can supply you with a restored unit as he was able to for my 70 Chevelle. The correct cap you need for a 72 is a RC-15 large ear cap with a flush rivet to be 100% original. Sometime in mid year 69 they switched from a hollow to a flush (smooth) rivet.

Ray

Here is a mid 69 and earlier hollow rivet cap.

Here is a flush (smooth) rivet correct for late 69 and up.

Hope this helps,
Ray

Re: WTB: Radiator cap NOS or excellent OEM used for 1972

Ray thank you! Great info on the caps. I'll cast about to see if one crops up but great to know I can have one redone. I couldn't find his website but I did this quick article with before/after pics and contact info: http://www.z28.net/2012/05/02/radiator-cap-restoration/

Inline tubes is also making a reproduction RC15 cap in the USA I believe.

Looks like an original style cap then on my K20
