1987 v20 build and 8.1 swap
so just finished swapping in my 8.1 into my 87 today and all i can say is wow it has some power. had to race a friends duramax just to see how well it compared and it was out infront of the duramax by a truck length.
But to start off this is how i bought a year and a half ago. it had a carbed 350 in it that kinda ran but the starter bolt hole was snapped on the block so the starter was grinding when running. my original plan was to go threw and fix all the rust and completely redo everything on the truck then stick a tbi motor with vortec heads back into it along with a 4l80 from my old 91. and use it as my daily and main plow truck. this is how it sits right now. new doors rockers cab corners floor supports, floor pans and managed to score some rust free fenders and core support. i built the flatbed for it too. ill post some more about it sometime this week with more pictures. i still have to finish up the custom front bumper/ plow mount for it too
