Re: Lmc truck good luck

I think LMC is a great company. I have ordered a lot of things for my 1970 K20 and have had no problems. Some things may not fit perfectly but you have to think things made in the 70's weren't as sophisticated as things are now with tolerances and spacing and all of the automation used to build cars. I've even had to use there customer service twice and they mailed me new products for free. Once was a packing error and the other FEDEX damaged my box and parts were missing. They sent me knew stuff and filed a claim with FEDEX for me. Also if you ever notice even though they don't mention to many brands in there catalog when you get the part sometimes its a name brand product from another vendor so its not all knock off junk from another country. Also like one person posted they have the best detailed catalog I have ever seen to reference parts needed and where they most likely go.

Re: Lmc truck good luck

For my '72, I've ordered a few things from LMC, and haven't had an issue thus far. However, I do not use LMC exclusively, as I've also ordered from Manes truck parts, Classic Industries, eBay, and Summit racing. As I'm restoring my truck on an EXTREMELY limited budget, I always sit down with my list for a particular project (right now it's a rebuild of the dash and everything in it) and compare pricing, shipping, and availability from several different sources. Thusly, I may order a heater control valve from one source, and a heater control kit from another.
I did, several years back, restore a '53 Chevy truck and almost exclusively ordered from LMC. I've never had any issues with them, and find they have a pretty vast collection. That said, I sometimes find their prices a bit higher, and their shipping charges steeper as well. Just my 2¢

Theres no doubt that there are better and worse suppliers out there. As for me, i'm forced to use suppliers who will ship to Canada and I have found that a few of the board supporting vendors don't.

You got a hat? I ordered some things from them earlier this year.
They didn't send me a hat. Not even a catalog..

Which is ok since I used the online catalog anyway.
The order arrived promptly and was packaged well. The fit and finish was good. So I have no complaints.

I've ordered from LMC, and was satisfied with the service. I ordered knobs and handles from them. A couple of the items had to be slightly modified to fit but that's not the distributors fault. I feel the pain in the original post, as my wife has had a lot of issues with the USPS delivering things way late, and mangled beyond use. Always get insurance when you can.

Re: Lmc truck good luck

Thought I would let you guys know the update. A customer service manager called me out of the blue Thursday to apologize for the missing packages and that there was an error on their part. She proceeded to tell me she was reshipping my order next day air at no charge. I received my parts on Friday as expected with no issues. That's excellent customer service and will definitely but from them again.

Re: Lmc truck good luck

I have had mixed results with LMC.

Replacement tail light pigtails were junk, they sent me another set that were just as bad. I ended up buying used ones here on the board.

Recently I ordered a new dash bezel and instrument lens. The bezel was nice quality, and the finish was detailed and crisp. The printing on the lens was skewed to far to the right and the end of the "E" on "TEMPERATURE" was almost under the edge of the bezel window. I called them and they sent out a replacement. It was the same problem. After another call complete with photos showing the problem they launched an investigation with their vendor. Final answer... all the bezels from that vendor were the same.

I think they try to resolve customer problems, but a small percentage of the vendors they use have no clue about "Correct" restoration.

Re: Lmc truck good luck

I've made a few decent sized purchases from LMC. Maybe I was lucky but I got my parts on each occasion very quick, packaged professionally and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I'm not going to say they are the best or anything like that but they are a decent resource that I would rather have than not have...

Thank you for replying to the Forum to let everyone know how it was resolved.

Glad it worked out for you, albeit about two weeks later than you would have liked.
