2 piece driveshaft angles
I know it's been covered. I've read the threads, but there never seems to be a real clear answer.
Choppin block kit Gen 5 L83/6l80e 10bolt Measurements are as follows. tailshaft 7 deg down driveshaft 1 1 deg down Carrier bearing with 3.5" spacer Shaft 2 12 deg up Pinion 7 deg up I initially set the rear end up for a 1 piece, so I did opposite the tailshaft, but we can't fit a 1 piece so had to build a 2 piece. Now I need to know if my pinion needs to move or not. From my measurements the working angle between the first u joint and shaft is 6 degrees (7-1) Operating angle between shaft 1 and 2 is 7 degrees (12 + 1) Then first angle minus 2nd (6-13) = 7 degrees If that's correct, my pinion is dead on no? Or should it be 7 degrees down? Any 2 piece frame laying gurus care to chime in? My PB setup when I built my other '65 was a LOT easier since I used a 1 piece. The guys over at Adams Driveshaft built mine. Might give them a call. Mine not laying frame, just pipe notch. Limited buy exhaust as well.

just guessing here, but seems if you set the pinion angle same as the transmission, you would also set the carrier angle same as the transmission as well...
interested to see what you find out.
