No power steering
Finally got truck ready for test drive . 69 GMC-327-700r4 trans. Problem in power steering. 2 handed operation unless moving down the road. Sitting still almost impossible to park and turn wheel to back out of carport. Would a bad pump cause it to be that hard to turn?
Thanks JR |

Re: No power steering
Having seen the inside of a PS pump, I can say that if its turning, its working.
Is there any fluid in it? Shotgunning parts gets expensive. |

Re: No power steering
It has fluid and is turning so I am gonna have to try a pump. I agree on the expense but not sure what else it might be.
Thanks JR |

Re: No power steering
Finally found out it is a metric pump so got 86 model pump installed. Waiting for rain to stop to try it out.

Re: No power steering
New pump fixed problem but now real sensitive steering. Have to really stay alert or I am changing lanes. Any way to make it less quick or sensitive?
Thanks |
