New Front Seats

Ordered this late 90's Chevy 60/40 seat for the '71. Haven't received yet, but expect this week. Hoping I wont have to remove the trans (700R4) to get at new bolt holes etc. Before getting them reupholstered I figure I can find a decent seat cover for them.

Those seats require seat track modifications to fit and they don't make aftermarket seat cover kits for them , the material is bonded to the foam cushion from the factory so other than cheapo slip over covers they have to be custom reupholstered by an interior shop and that ain't cheap . You can clean them using windex and a shop vac , spray re-dying them doesn't work because it will make the material hard and crunchy . There are better model seats to use as replacements .

You might want to try and call Caltrend, they may custom fit seat covers for almost anything. I've used them on some odd ball things in the past. Good people to deal with.

Those look like the seats in my 98. They are very comfortable (opinion), and seem to be fairly durable.

I have the bucket version going in my '68. Modifying the tracks today. I'll try to remember to post a pic once they're mounted.
