trans crossmember

My 86 Scottsdale has the 4.3/A833 trans combo. After putting dual exhaust on it the passenger side pipe hits the crossmember making a heck of a noise. After looking into my options, mashing the pipe, etc, I noticed the c member is angled up causing the problem. Would a c member from v8 truck and same trans be a solution? I'm sure the c member will hard to locate. Happened to see a 4x4 c member on c list recently that was flat rather than any angle on pass side. There isn't much room over the factory c member for the pipe. The muffler shop didn't do a neat job on the duals so I don't want to go back there.
May wind up having to mash the pipe anyway. Thoughts? All info is greatly appreciated. Muley
