72 c10 wheel question

Hey all, relatively new to this forum and loving it so far.

I plan on lowering my 71 with 5lug and disc brakes about 5/5 or possibly 5/7 in the future, and am looking to run smoothie style wheels in either 15 or 18inch, with baby moon style caps. I see some Wheel Vintique wheels out there but am really confused as to what my options are... can anyone chime in with some help?

Re: 72 c10 wheel question

I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for but use the search feature on this forum for dropped suspension, lowered suspension and wheels and tires. There are many threads here on both. Look at lots of pictures until you find the look you like then see how the suspension was done and wheel sizes, back spaces, tire sizes, etc. There are numerous ways to achieve a particular amount of drop. Read a lot.

Re: 72 c10 wheel question

maybe i should re-phrase my question.

My drop is already planned out, i plan on going with 2.5" spindles and 3" drop springs in the front, and No-Limit trailing arm kit in the back for a 5.5/5 total drop. this leaves room for 2 inch blocks in the back if i decide to go down to a 5.5/7

what i am looking for info on are the wheels specifically. what Wheel Vintique model number work with Baby Moons style hubcaps and will clear my stock disc brakes?

I've seen stock "nub" wheels with hold that style hubcap, just not sure on aftermarket wheels.

Re: 72 c10 wheel question

Aftermarket wheels to fit a 71-72 5 lug truck should clear your stock front disc brakes since from the factory they were all disc brake fronts from 71 on. I believe the smoothie by WV is the one for mini moons.
