1983 Chevy K10
Hello guys I'm new to this forum and also to square bodies. My grandpa gave a his 1983 k10 Chevy truck and I've begun the process of fixing it up. It is pretty rusty and will probably need a donor truck for body parts. I will post progress as I go in this thread. I do have a question for you guys tho. My grandpa put a cheap universal floor shift in this truck years ago and needless to say it sucks. I want to keep the floor shift what kind of shifter and hardware kit do I need? The truck has a three speed I'm not sure of the make. Thank you guys!

Assuming that it was originally a three-on-the-tree using a stock chevy 3-speed transmission, you could buy a new set-up from Summit Racing. See below link for ideas.

Re: 1983 Chevy K10
Hey IW, welcome. There are a couple of things that will help you get more info and responses. Pictures help people get interested. And details are what let us know if we can be helpful. Show us the truck in pictures. Front, back, sides, interior, engine. Might seem unnecessary but it's more fun to help if you get to see what you're helping on. Then a couple detail shots of the raggedy shifter or whatever. Then, tell us what motor is in it if you know. And if the sticker listing options is still on the inside of the glove box door, shoot a pic of that. There are guys on here than can tell you what each of the codes man for the items listed.
Just some thoughts man. Good luck! |
