Re: OMG price shock
He said $1,250.00 Canadian.
Years ago, people down here would send their parts up to Canada to get plated for cheap. I guess not any more.

Which shop in bc did you ask? If you are in the Kelowna area I have heard many good things about Kelowna electroplating

Re: OMG price shock
Sounds as bad as the costs here in California, leading to many plating companies here to either move elsewhere or close.

Re: OMG price shock
My dad deals with platers a lot and he took a friends rear Buick bumper in and they said $1200, the biggest issue is the quality of the plating. Some don't buff or fix anything on the part so it comes out bad. I would shop around and find out exactly what your paying for. GMC grills, especially nice ones are hard to find and the chrome ones are even harder to find!
Good Luck!!

Re: OMG price shock
I had the same problem finding the right place to get my 62 grill chromed. I could have gotten the repop 64-66 but I wanted to keep the original 1 year grill. One place wanted $ 1800 and another $950. I finally posted on Facebook on the c10 group and found a chrome quote me $600. Keep looking around you will find the right person.

Re: OMG price shock
I was just looking into having a fleetside rear bumper re-chromed. The chrome is getting dull, but the bumper is otherwise mint. The price I was quoted would cover a new front and rear bumper with cash left over.
