Thinking of buying this 72
This is my first post, HI!
 This truck was bought new by my wifes grandfather. He passed away around 10 years ago and the truck sat in my father in-laws garage since. My father in law wants it out and has asked us if we want to buy it from the family trust. The truck has 78000 miles on it, runs and drives great. They did install new brakes, carb, and radiator a few weeks ago to get it more road worthy. It is a 3/4 ton, three on the tree, 350, and long box which 3/4 ton and long box hurts the value. I have no clue what this is worth. Do you think this is worth $2500? My wife wants it because it was her grandfathers and to give to our sons to drive in a few years. We are in Florida and the truck is in Michigan. I have a quote of $850 to get it here.Thanks

Hell Yeah! In that shape, it is worth more than $5000!
It looks like it is in great shape from here. If you can get the original carb back and have it rebuilt, that value would be even more. Write the check now and enjoy the ride.

Has the truck been in Michigan all it's life? If so, I'd bet part of that 78K miles & 34yrs worth of road time it's seen exposure to road salt. Looking @ the bottom of the rockers/front fenders indicates some rattle can coverage over something.
It's def not a bad deal to keep it in the family.

that seems like a fair price for everyone. could probably get a bit more if sold to a stranger. very cool truck!

It looks like a good deal for everyone. Keep it in the family, wife is happy...build it with your son as he grows up. This is another opportunity to get some good father son time turning wrenches? GL and keep us updated?

More than worth the money and at $2500 you can afford to throw some aftermarket goodies on it to make it even better!
Tilt steering column, TH350 with a shift kit, things like that. |
