60-66 Stance, Ride Height
How low can you get your 60-66 (mine's a 61) ride height and still have drivability? Wondering what lowering spring combinations have been used front and rear, and/or lowering spindles with the lowering springs. I'd like to have a low stance on my 61 but I'm not sure how low is too low? Had considered 4" drop in the rear, 2-1/2 " drop spindles with 2 " drop springs up front. 20's in the rear,18's up front? Too low? Just looking to see what other's have done, how it looks, any tips or recommendations.
Thanks, Dave |

The first is too low. Ride height and last is rear bags and just torsion bars all out, no drop spindles.

That really depends on the condition and type of roads you will be driving the majority of the time. This also includes the driveway and curb approaches. Pay close attention to the measurements above, and determine what will be best for your application based on the roads in your area.

Re: 60-66 Stance, Ride Height
I think the front of mine is as low as you can go without cutting into the inner fenders, pancaking the crossmember, or going with a dropmember. You could go lower but it's going to rub and drag all the time. Has 2.5" spindles, stock coils have 1.5 coils cut off, and 215/75-15 tires on stock wheels. I had to pull out one of the fender bolts right above the tire on each side since it was cutting into the tread on bigger bumps. There's only about 1.5" between the top of the tire and the inner fender. I'm running stiffer KYB Gas-A-Just shocks to keep it from bottoming out but it still rides good. I've put 4-500 miles on it so far and the crossmember has only scraped once, and that was my fault for going way to fast through a rough intersection.

Re: 60-66 Stance, Ride Height
I think 5.5 is as low as you can go in the rear without notching the frame. I have a 4 in drop in the front and it clears almost everything with no worries. I had a 4.5 in drop in the front and I had a hard time getting into my driveway and going over dips in the road. Believe it or not my bumper is what would scrape when going over dips in the road. If I didn't have such a steep driveway I would stay with the 4.5 in drop. Tire size also plays a large factor in how low you go.
This is how she sits right now. |

Re: 60-66 Stance, Ride Height
Wow 7 in the front. I would be scraping on everything and 6.5 in the rear and your axle doesn't hit the frame. I am vary confused.
