Turbo 350 Tranny Help
The tranny in my 70 K2500 started slipping bad so I found what was advertised as new old stock K series TH 350 in crate on eBay. They had 9 of them - still have 8. It's now in my truck. I think the valve body must have been swapped out for a full manual because it requires shifting to shift.
Two questions - One, can I clean and swap the VB from my prior tranny into this one? And two, anyone have any idea what these are? Seems odd to have 9 race 350s laying around in crates wrapped in old anti rust paper?! Here is tranny info; C2 on top of bell housing. S/n 051 AG331-303 |

Re: Turbo 350 Tranny Help
I'm no expert but i thought K series always had K on the bell, Google TH350 K case and hit images.

Re: Turbo 350 Tranny Help
Make sure the Vacuum modulator valve is hooked up and if the hose is very old it may look ok but suck shut when the engine cranks up or the metal tube could have gotten crunched and is keeping vac from working properly. Jim

Re: Turbo 350 Tranny Help
Okay, I installed the transmission and found that it had been converted to a manual valve body. Took it to my tranny expert and he swapped in the valve body from the old tranny and adjusted the regulator off of full pressure?? Anyway, the tranny was fun in manual mode and would really snap your head back but its getting dark here with winter and no light on the column indicator made it a little scary since I could accidently dump it into reverse instead of drive! Cheers.
