Re: Speedometer cable going bad?

I pull the cable from behind the odometer, spray it with brake cleaner multiple times to get it clean. let it dry (just a few minutes) then put it in a gallon freezer Ziploc bag. Then I put in some white lithium grease and smear it around real well.

Then I put white lith grease into the hole of the speedo cable housing and try to push it as far as I can. If I have it in a gun, I wil place 8-10 pumps in there. Then I run the cable in and out about 30 times, making sure the first end in has fresh grease on it each time. (Trying to push the grease to the bottom end)

Then I push the cable in from the bag until it is all the way in. The Ziploc helps keep my hands and the interior of the truck clean.
