Patch panel?
Ok, I've searched the inerweb, but can't find this piece? Found them for 47-55, seems someone makes them for '59? Anyone have a source? Would save considerable time from having to fab something...Kel

Re: Patch panel?
It's a super easy area to fab, give it a try. If you have the skills to weld a patch there, you are inches away from having the skills to make the patch!

Re: Patch panel?
I need to clean my glasses and the laptop screen.
Sorry about the brainfart on that one. As many of those that I've seen rusted out in that area you would think someone would make them.

Thanks Brian...you talked me into it. I do have a plasma cutter, have done full 1/4's on '68 Firebird(my 1st project couple years ago.) I didn't know how to do that either, but learned. Cut it about 1" above that whole curve, form from inside I guess...I even bought a planishing machine, might be a good time to learn how to use it. |

Re: Patch panel?
For goodness sakes you sound like you have the skills to make the whole fender!

LOL...... Cut out bad metal, tacked in this galvanized I had laying around, it was about 1/4-1/2" short, so I took the piece I cut out and tacked it to new piece since it was already "shaped". Not exactly perfect, but rusted metal is gone and will finish off with epoxy & cloth to sit flush with step. |

Re: Patch panel?
Nice patch but I sure wouldn't use galvanized. It is poisonous to the system if you breathe the fumes from welding on it.

Re: Patch panel?
Thought I'd share this part of the project. Cab corners arrived, have passenger side mocked up. Take a look at the master body work that already had been done. Question - the new corners that came do not have the piece marked. What is it called and is it available?

Re: Patch panel?
That was an optional rock and road water deflector. Do not know if it is repoped. I have never seen one in person, just photos. Obviously they did not work to good.
