Test Time ... Do you know?
Ok... Just for fun
This is the side view of a 1970 C10 Model Truck. How many boo boo's can you find.

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
I know the 2nd picture is all wrong, but I like the hidden headlights and grill.

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
yeah, I guess when you think about it - the RS Camaro hidden headlights were still the rage in 70 and folks probably weren't too happy it ended after 69. Funny how we think that when the factory does something it's cool and when someone tries to re-do it on something it wasn't originally done on, we tend to not like it as much. Ok, maybe I am the only one that doesn't tend to like it as much, ha. I do think that an egg crate 71/72 grilles would lend itself to a hideaway headlight look better, i.e. it could be made to blend well with the grille pretty easily.

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
It's interesting to me that the windshield wipers appear to be backwards on the red version, but not on the olive. Both of these pictures are from the same model, yes?

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
Smooth front bumper. Wrong markers up front, none in back. Roofline too low above windshield, no rain gutter. Apparently no front suspension--should be able to see the lower control arms from that angle. No gas cap/fill neck. No door handles or dimples for the hand behind them.

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
My old eyes can actually spot a few things on the red "Baja" version.
Other than than the grill and the fact it looks nothing like a Baja truck, All three mirrors missing No door handles No stake bed pockets Steering wheel kinda looks like it's just floating there

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
Buddy buckets of some sort. Relocated gas tank since filler hole is gone looks like a short bed too?

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
Those are art work on a model kit. Not meant to be 100% accurate and neither truck is shown in stock form. There are no emblems, no door handles, and no gas cap. AMT used the same interior mold from 67/68 (so buddy buckets). Doesn't look like they put a drip rail on the top. The mirrors aren't correct, either

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
hubcaps don't look right either, like chrome domes instead of dog dishes with bow-ties.

My plain-jane 1970 has black headlight bezels too (not sure if they are original but no reason to suspect not).

Incorrect mirrors! These are the 1966 and earlier style I believe.

Re: Test Time ... Do you know?
I do not see any rear marker lights and those tires are outrageously PHAT!
I like it. |
