Re: Harpie's 71 SWB 5.3LS build
Interesting. I don't know much about rear ends but I will be rebuilding my 12 bolt sometime and currently reading up on what I should go with. I would always rather talk to someone that has used the product rather than just random reviews. I look forward to the pictures and your update!

Re: Harpie's 71 SWB 5.3LS build
Ok update: Snowball is back home and I had to go with a different posi than I had planned but man it sure works great! Used an Auburn AG 5420107-HP and it is working flawlessly. I had an eaton 3 series that came stock and it ate itself but back when I changed the gears I went with 373 and since it was a 3 series had to use thicker gears so is why I am running this particular auburn. Very pleased and now I am ready for the Power tour cant wait!

Re: Harpie's 71 SWB 5.3LS build
Well did something I have always wanted to do. Took my truck and joined in on the Hot Rod Power Tour and it was an absolute blast! Met so many cool gear heads from all over. Learned ol Snowball is not a fan of 100 degree heat and stop and go traffic. Looks like I will be getting electric fans and probably a better Aux trans cooler. Put over 800 miles on the ol girl and made it back so I would say it was a success and got to spend it with my dad. Look forward to doing it again next year. Also saw a bunch of sweet c10s and several I have seen here so was pretty cool. Traveled with a buddy that brought his roush ford fx4 truck and he said he would haul me home if I broke down. Couldn't let that bastard get the satisfaction lol

I looked for you at Remington park the other day. I never saw your truck, I know it was a hot mother out there.

Re: Harpie's 71 SWB 5.3LS build
Yes sir it sure was. The pic above with hood up was Remington Park I was trying to let the poor thing cool off. I went ahead and headed on home and didn't go on to Kansas since the truck was not liking the heat. Will hafta make a point and meet up!

Re: Harpie's 71 SWB 5.3LS build
I was there in my truck too around 2:00. I took pictures of every C/10 out there. I had to leave pretty early for a prior commitment. I'm sure I just missed you.

Re: Harpie's 71 SWB 5.3LS build
Well have not done much lately but drive the wheels off my truck. So time to finish up a few things and do some changes that need to be done. Get the headliner installed, Electric fans installed, install a different aux trans cooler (hope this helps summer time driving), install lower trim and tail gate band and trim. Should be posting some updates and pics again soon.
