Drop rear leaf springs

My original plan was a flip kit on my 72 c10 but I have been looking at the 4 inch drop leaf springs but not sure which is the path to take. Any one know of advantages of either one???

Check out my current build thread here....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=724379

Went with a 4" drop spring and 2.5" extended shackles. Obviously the truck isn't finished, but already thinking we should have flipped it instead. I had to buy springs either way and didn't feel great about spending the money for new stock height springs and then for flipping. If you already have springs, I would definitely just go with a flip.

Re: Drop rear leaf springs

Thanks for the info, I'm guessing these are really old springs so I'm going to bite the bullet and replace them with new stock and do the flip, I could always put shackles on it if I need it lower. Thanks

If you flip you can do blocks to lower it further if necessary. Makes it nice that way because you can tailor it to your tastes.

Re: Drop rear leaf springs

Well, how low do you want to go? My 69 short step has factory HD rear leafs. The flip dropped the rear 7 1/4". If that's not how low you want to go, then buy drop springs.

I'm pleased with how mine came out and would flip again.
