Water temp sensor

Hello,

I'm about to install my water temp sensor on my rebuilt 350. Do I use teflon tape and then install it on the motor? Or do I just install it without teflon tape?

Thanks,
Ramiro

Thumbs up Re: Water temp sensor

Sensor has pipe thread and pipe threads require some type of sealant, pipe dope or teflon tape. Don't over tighten and your good to go. Duck 37

Re: Water temp sensor

I just did a couple of temperature sensors, and used Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant (small tube is item 59214). I used it because I had it around from some NPT fuel fittings.

Everything I've used it on so far has sealed the first time, and a little goes along way. I would'nt hesitate to use teflon tape on the water fittings but figured I'd mention something else.
