Disc Brake Conversion & Posi track Rear

I Have a 1969 C10 step side I would like replace the drum brakes with disc brakes have anyone made this change on there C10 truck if so can you provide me with some picture and or part numbers.

I would also like to install posi traction unit in the rear end of my 1969 as well can this be done on a 1969 c10 if so what are some of the part numbers if anyone have install a posi in there c10

Plenty of kits to put disc on the rear. You might not tell much difference on the rear, a lot of guys say they were disappointed with the results. Maybe someone will chime in on their swaps. Yes a posi is doable but they are kinda pricey but if you have lots of power your trying to put down it is a great upgrade.

I just install a 505 big block in my c10 need a posi rear end

Disks on the front is worthwhile. Lots of threads on this, just use the Search function. Very important to do brakes the right way, or you can end up with a truck that likes to do 180s when you stomp the brake pedal. Proportioning valve, master cylinder, calipers all have to be correct to work together. If it was my problem, I'd find the complete brake system from a later truck, make sure you have 5 or 6 holes in the rotors and drums as required, then move everything over.

I just bought a posi for my 68, I bought it on Amazon.com as a kit with bearings and the ring and pinion. I will see if I can find the link. More brake kits out there than you can shake a stick at.

I was/am in your same situation...

I did go ahead and do front and rear disc on mine. that way I didn't have to use a proportioning valve for rear drums. I also swapped to 5 lug. I went with the master power brake kit and booster, etc... I did that summer of last year and it has been a worth while upgrade for me.

I am currently upgrading from my 396 to a new ZZ502.... and I to am upgrading to a eaton posi rear. I just ordered it over the weekend so I cant give you my opinion but just as u said... I need posi!
