Finally!! Finishing the flat bed - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Well after a year and a half of sitting, I am getting the flat bed finished up off my 1968 1ton. Here it is loaded and ready to go to my friends in the morning for some last little welding. Then get it ready for paint, and it will be done!! I haven't got to really take it out for a good drive yet!! It might take me another month at least to get it painted ( I am working lots of overtime at work right now and it's killing my play time!). You can see the truck in the back of the garage.

The truck won't be used for anything, just for looks. I have polished aluminum tread plate for the floor.

Thanks for the kind words guy's.
I got all of the welding done Sunday. Now I have to grind all the welds smooth, and drill for the side marker lights. I hope to work on it this weekend. I need to get this thing done!!!
Still no luck getting someone to move this to the message board yet??

Joe, can I get a pic of your cab lights?
I am looking for a cab top to put them on my cab. Don't know for sure if I want the original lights or the longer chrome ones yet. Lots of work for the originals.

Nu2-72, My truck originally had the chrome cab lights but I didn't really like them. I just welded up the extra holes and put on the 69-72 style. I don't have the correct raised spots on my roof, but they fit and look pretty good.
