What Axles Came In 69 K20?

I've got a line on a pair of 69 3/4 ton axles, but want to make sure they're correct before I take the plunge. The guy describes them as follows:

"closed knuckle Dana 44 front end from 3/4 ton and eaton rear axle both with 4.56 gears"

Name: 69 K20 Axles.jpg

Size: 110.7 KB

Is that accurate for a 69 K20?

That is one combination that came in a '69.

you would be better off with a Dana 60 rear end. The eaton's are getting very hard to find parts for. If you were not woried about total originality. I would put a newer dana 44 and a 14 bolt ff in it. Disk brakes and a rear you can get parts for.

Those are exactly what are on my '69 K20. I would pull the covers off both axles before buying them...
As b.sharp mentioned, if originality is not a concern, go with a Dana 44 disc brake open knuckle front and 14 bolt rear axle. Sharper turning radius, heavier duty axle u-joints, better brakes, part availability etc.

How hard would that pair be to bolt onto my '69 K10?

I agree with outfield on the open knuckle disc 44 and 14 bolt rear. Front will bolt right in. For the rear corp 14, if you get one from a srw one ton, you should only need to change the shock mounts. The spring perches will be in the correct location. But, if you get one where you have to weld on perches it's not so bad because you can dial in the pinion angle and weld the perches spot on for angles. Most of the GM axles are plug and play for swapping. So you have choices galore. Ehh hmm.... Dana 60 Front is nice if you can get one in your budget!

Anyhow, the right combo is a simple swap.

Wait I might have spoke too soon on the perches on the one ton to K10. I know for sure the one ton perches for the K20 will fit. I never owned a K10 so someone will need to verify, or you need to measure

Long bed K/10 uses the same frame as K/20. The 1 ton srw will swap to k/10 as said above.
