Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Update:
Pic #1. After the hood etc were removed and ready for mockup. Pic #2. The Allen Grove Components kit...comes with brackets, hardware, tensioner and a new belt $240.00 Pic #3. This was the mockup of the bracket. The spacers etc. can be a bit of a pain to hold onto while assembly. My fix is to weld the spacers in place so it's an entire unit. Pic #4. Like this! Pic #5. And the inside bracket. Now its ready for paint!

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Pic #1. Here is a shot of the pump in place.
This is the high mount kit it measures 17" from the outside of the pump to the center of the waterpump pulley. He also has a low mount setup ava. and it mounts closer (13") and it is very close to the block next to the oil pan, if you have room between the frame and engine this would be a good choice as well. Pic #2. The unit (when painted will go in like this) all assembled and drops in place. This is the 2nd kit I have used and this is the easiest way to assemble this kit IMO. Pic #3. In this shot I'm using a ratchet strap to measure for a belt (the one in the kit is for pwr steering) and this truck has a manual rack so the belt was to long. The new belt measures 104" Mark...

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
A-C pump is a very nice fit in there!
When you measure the lenght of the belt, how much length do you take off for the self-tensioner? I think the belt has to be a small bit shorter then how it is in the pic?

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Yes I took into consideration for the tensioner.
I took it and pulled down on the tensioner and then made the belt a bit shorter and marked it. removed then measured the parts house had a belt 103 3/4" and worked out nicely. Mark.

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Thanks Doug, It fits very nice in it's new home!
Besides the A/C it's getting a new shifter upgrade (lokar floor mount) midnight series, new pads on the front and changed out the bucket seats to a smaller set. I had a set pulled out of a G6 and when I got them to the shop the electronics are not working so I pulled the seats from (orangepeel) so I can get his on the road. Mark.

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Pic #1. I did want to note one thing: In this shot I had to use the pulley from the O.E. tensioner (take off for new bracket) and removed the idler pulley so the belt had something to ride on.
Pic #2. Here I pulled the carpet out so I could remove the old shifter and give me room to work. Pic #3. The A/C unit in place. I did want it a bit more under the dash but I don't have the room behind the unit (aka firewall) do to it being moved back 2 inches for the motor install. Mark..

Pic #1. During the install of the new Lokar floor mount shifter. The braces will be welded in to support the new shifter.
Pic #2. The cover set in place ready to bolt down and install boot. Till next time. mark..

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Looks good Mark.
Are you closing the gap between the dash and AC also?

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
As of right now I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.
Maybe a pocket or just a filler

Re: John's LS 49 Dodge
Pic #1. The front nose piece had to come off so I could fit and install the condenser
Pic #2. Condenser all mounted. Pic #3. After all the hoses ran etc. and the interior back in and ready to go home, after sending some shots to John he decided not to do anything with the slot above the A/C unit nor and thing with the panels for the interior just yet. Mark..
