wiring problem- all power 'dies'
I have a 61 with God-knows-what wiring (it's a mess- been re-wired incorrectly I am sure). In any event, sometimes everything goes dead in a split second. In the past I've charged the battery up, and everything is then good to go (does not appear to be a battery problem- as when one is dying you get that slowing down cranking effect). anyway, turned on the ignition key the other night, all lights came on, went to crank it and 'blam'- everything went dead.
got a split second of lights on last night now everything dead again. My guess is to just buy and entirely new harness. Thanks, Scott |

Assuming that you have checked and cleaned the Battery cables ? then next would be the main bulkhead connector is probably corroded

Re: wiring problem- all power 'dies'
Where the main harness goes through the firewall drivers side lower plug upper is hood lights
Could also be bad connection on main wire at horn relay Last edited by jtrichard; 02-02-2017 at 02:46 PM. |
