Stolen Hubcap
Went camping this past weekend. On the way home, stopped at Denny's for some goodness. All was perfect in the world when I exited Denny's with my wife and son. That is until I instantly noticed that my driver side rear hubcap was missing when I walked around to the driver's side to get in. I know for a fact that it was on there when I went into Denny's because I walked around to check my trailer, and I found the smudge of a finger print on the rim where the cap was pulled off.
The caps are 3/4 ton blue bowties that I painstakingly masked off and repainted the black and polished the chrome. It took me a while to assemble the full set. Now, I could live with knowing that one fell off while I was driving. It would suck, but I could get past it. Knowing that some #$%*& put his hands on my Blazer and stole a piece off of it is proving to be harder to get over. I hate thieves. |

Dennys happen to have security cameras? Might be worth a shot?

I'm sorry to hear that. I know you've put a lot of work into your Blazer.

Re: Stolen Hubcap
That surely does suck. If I should ever catch someone swiping a part off of my truck then God help them... If the guy KNEW what he was stealing then that means some fellow enthusiast out there is a thief, and that sucks even more.

Like the truck crazy fool I am, I grabbed one of my spare caps out of the attic, removed some dents, polished it up, and painted it. Its now on the Blazer, but I'm thinking I might just remove all the caps so this doesn't happen again. Sucks because I really like the look of the caps. OK, I'm done being a whiney b%&ch about it. Could have been worse...could have been the entire Blazer. |

Re: Stolen Hubcap
Its good to have a forum like this to vent my frustrations, and to have others understand my situation. My wife just thinks I'm crazy.

Re: Stolen Hubcap
I'm sorry to hear of that. I wouldn't remove them due to being afraid of them being stolen. If it wasn't the hub cap, who knows what it could have been? I went through a situation 3 months ago when I caught a dirt bag looking through the window on my 72 eye balling the stereo. Long story short the local law enforcement told me these trucks are easy to break in to and are targeted a lot. I told him the thieves are the targets at my house.
