700R4 Clunking and slipping
I'm quite worried about this.... I've got a 700R4 with a real mild shift kit. It backs a Ramjet 350. So it's 351 horse and 403 torque. It has just recently started to slip- the engine keeps running and slowly revs higher and the tranny finally catches up (it takes about 1-2 seconds) and it surges forward. Not a real firm jerk but a quick pulling as if I hit the gas a little harder than usual. I hope I'm not losing a tranny. Any help? Thanks guys!

Check tv cable adjustment and not drive it until you do

Re: 700R4 Clunking and slipping
Its the cable that controls the line pressure and proper shifting of the 700r4. It runs from the trans to the carb and depending on which carb a specific bracket could be needed for proper geometry of operation. Post a pic of the drivers side of your carb that may be of some help

It's got a ramjet efi system. The linkage is on the passenger side. I can post a picture tomorrow.

Have you checked the fluid?

Yep! It looked full, maybe a tiny tiny bit high. It was pink. Smelled okay too.

Re: 700R4 Clunking and slipping
Would also need a pic where it connects to throttle body but that bracket doesn't look like any ive ever seen and looks like it could shift back and forth if its only bolted by one bolt. And that would be a big no no with a tv cable on a od trans.
