A recent topless picture
Been driving the Jimmy a lot after the 5.3 install. It needs a wash but here is a recent picture!

Re: A recent topless picture
After working out the few issues I am very pleased. I still need to rebuild the rear axle and do a complete brake job. I got 15mpg on my first tank with all city/back road driving with an occaisional heavy foot.
It does run a bit hot in stop and go driving in the 90-95 degree heat. It is fine when driving and cools down quickly after I start moving again. It has not overheated yet. I have a different fan I am going to try. If that does not work I have a 160 thermostsat to install. If all else fails I "may" go with electric fans. But the short answer is yes I am pretty pleased. Last year I didn't even drive 1000 miles. I have twice that since the install.

Nice Thealien. Congrats on the install. I know the feeling, I just finished with my engine swap as well and can't stay out of the truck now, lol. I'm up to 600 miles already and running great. Good luck.

Re: A recent topless picture
I think I'm going to go with a 5.3 when my engine's time comes.
BTW - I really like the body lines on your blazer. All the gaps look great.

Re: A recent topless picture
Sweet, the Jimmy looks great. They're a lot more enjoyable to drive with the new engine, aren't they.

Re: A recent topless picture
What kind of temps is it getting to when running hot. Seems the newer engines like to be around 195.

I do not have a scanner but may get an aeroforce gauge which reads all the OBDII readings including temp. I have a link to the aeroforce gauge in the LS swap thread.
