Re: 3rd Brake Light Ideas - Photos Please

check post 21 for a pic of the s10 blazer/ suburban style. they mount simply with 2 screws that go downward through end caps of the assembly. the wires come out the bottom but that is an easy fix to overcome. you could easily 2 side tape it to where ever and see if you like it first.

Re: 3rd Brake Light Ideas - Photos Please

Has anyone ever seen a cab with this top centered 3rd brake light? Or was perhaps a cargo light?

The light was from a 48 Chevy car and we made the external cup. Its accessible from inside the dome light to change the bulb.

What's interesting about Foot Stomper's post is the idea that MAYBE someone could take apart a rust bucket cab and reuse the inner portion of the roof with the dome light as a "seat" for an exterior 3rd brake light. Of course it would take some metal work - my cab is past the point when i could go back and experiment with this but maybe this will give someone the idea to try it!

Or maybe build your own... Be easier than cutting up a cab... Especially for a light that suits your own tastes...

Re: 3rd Brake Light Ideas - Photos Please

take a cardboard cutput pattern of your cab profile with you on a walkabout of the boneyards and tour around till you find something workable with the correct, or close, roof contour. otherwise the options are an inside mount or metalwork to fit something you like.
