pewter painted rally wheel
shot my wheels last night with a cool pewter color that I also used on a '92 gmc I restored a few years back.
Thought the color would look sharp on my 1970 C10. They aren't period correct wheels but work for me. FYI if you like I attached pic of the color (single stage urethane) |

Re: pewter painted rally wheel
That looks great! A friend of mine painted his wheels something similar.

Re: pewter painted rally wheel
I originally scanned that color from a rattle can back 20 some years ago. it was a paint with stainless steel particles in it.
I found they still make it. It may be possible to buy this paint and then get a quality clear coat in a can over. |

Re: pewter painted rally wheel
The wheels on my '72 are metallic charcoal. I painted them yo go with the Cheyenne grille in my '95 Suburban, but after a blow-out they are on the '72 temporarily. If you didn't know better you would think they are black...till you get up close. I wanted a gun metal grey, which is closer to your pewter but couldn't find any.
Your wheels look nice in that shade...richer than argent, yet not far off. We had a '99 ZR2 in pewter with steel wheels and that paint was closer to the argent. It looked like the wheels were painted to match

Heck google preval sprayer. They would do a good job also. It's a aerosol bottle you put paint in. I used them for gel coat repair on my boats. Works great. Posted via Mobile Device |
