driver side wheel sticks out further then passenger.

I have a 64 short box. the driver front wheels sticks out further then the passenger side by almost 1.5 inches. all 4 wheels are the same 15x5.5
Im not sure where to start looking.. makes it look like im running a 15x8 wheel

anyone seen this before?

Re: driver side wheel sticks out further then passenger.

My guess would be the offset of the wheels, sounds like the wheel on one side has a different offset than the other side.

That's what I thought with my old wheel setup. They were trailer type rims.
These are all 15x5.5 3 nub wheels with all the same backspacing.

If you are sure they are the same backspacing then it could be that your frame and or suspension components got damaged in a front end crash.
In the original post you didn't specify, is your truck a 2wd or 4wd?

2WD. It drives and brakes straight.

Re: driver side wheel sticks out further then passenger.

I measured my lower control arms and got two different sizes in length. Driver side is longer by almost 3/4 of a inch. I'm still not sure which one would be incorrect tho. Can anyone confirm the length?? The passenger side seems to look correct as the wheel looks tucked further in like the rears. But I've also read that the fronts seem to have a wider track then the rears..

Apart from the control arm measurment deal, is your front end stock?

You could also take a look at your radiator support brackets on the frame and see if the front sheet metal is sitting square on the frame. Something is amiss somewhere, sheet metal or frame.

Do you have disk brakes? It almost sounds like your drivers side control arm is from a 71-87, the reason I say that is because 71 and up have a track width that is wider by 3/4" on each side.
Some pictures would be helpful.

But that 3/4" difference in from the spindle and brake offset, not the arms. All arms from '63-'87 are the same length. Only difference are the bushing type and ball joints.

No idea as I have never seen van parts put on a truck nor looked closely at van suspensions.
