17 inch wheels
Boss 338 Super Finish with Gunmetal Center Wheels 3387-8850
anybody running these on thier truck https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...8850/overview/ I guess I am concerned about caliper space for performance disc brakes and the center hole size

Re: 17 inch wheels
I don't have those specific wheels, but I did a 17/18 combo of the Summit Legend 142 (Looks like a copy cat version of the Boss 338) wheels on my 1970 Nova.
Its hard to explain, but I don't like the way the 17" wheel looks. It looks like an after thought on the construction with the way the lip and the centers look. The proportions on the 18 are just must smoother and pleasant. That being said....I'd recommend 18's all the way around on the C10 |

Re: 17 inch wheels
Boss 338's.... yeah, there's quite a few C10's running around with those
A few years ago they made a splash because they were cheap, and i'm pretty sure half the forum members purchased a set. Google, "boss 338 c10" and you'll get every size, color, body style, ride height, and more. Also, search here. I don't remember anyone having much of an issue with fitment. |

Re: 17 inch wheels
If you're after performance, don't get 17" wheels. I just switched from 17's to 18's to be able to get a performance oriented tire that still looks good on a truck.

Re: 17 inch wheels
Hi Guys; just my opinion, but I had a 68C20 that had 17in lock ring wheels , and I put 16.5 rims on and it looked just right My work truck was a Dodge W200 4x4 with 16.5s And had extra tires so I used them. traded $20.00 and a carb for the wheels. Again just my opinion. Mike mhutch1948

Re: 17 inch wheels
Don't know if you know or not, but the 5x5 wheel pattern might not fit because of the diameter of the hub snout where the bearing cap area is. That's what my research came up with. You can turn it down or change to a different hub with the 5x4.75 smaller hub.

Re: 17 inch wheels
It's the front hub that gives some guys trouble. I seen a KC craigslist ad selling these wheels and offering for 20.00 more will bore the I.D out.

Re: 17 inch wheels
Well to be honest about the wheels. 17" wheels are the odd balls now days. Not to say they don't look good but finding good tires for them sucks. They just don't make that many tires that look good and handle the performance we all want.
I think you will be much happier with 18" are 20" wheels and tires. No worries at all with disc brakes either. As far as the front hubs it's a 30 minute fix for them.

Re: 17 inch wheels
I ground the end of the front hubs is all so the center caps would work. The rears where fine no problems at all.
