Lowering 66 GMC Stepside
Hey ya'll, time to start figuring out lowering my 1966 GMC Stepside. from reading around i know that the GMC rear is a bit different having the leaf springs and not being able to just do a 5 or 6 inch drop with just springs. So im curious to what everyone is doing to drop the rear end with their GMC's. id Like to go low but not have to notch the frame, at least for right now.
Also what about the front, is it different then the chevys or can i just get some drop springs and be fine? Thanks in advance for everything! |

Re: Lowering 66 GMC Stepside
how low you want to get the rear is the big question.
My 65 was done with out a notch. (However I will be notching it this year.) I took My springs to a shop and had them de-arch them. It lowered it about 4 inches. nice with the 5 Inch drop on the front using spindles and springs. I will be going 3 more this year. on the rear to level the truck. |
