Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
For me the 1972s I like the door panels. And it's the last year.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
My favorites for lower trucks would be the 67-68 nose. My favorite for 4x4 trucks would be the 71-72 style. Im not a big fan of the 69-70 grills. Even though I own a GMC, overall four eyes are my least favorite noses
But all of that being said, Ive seen plenty of all styles (even 69-70, and four eyes haha) in all different modes that break the "mold" that I like most.

My favourite is 70 but the most popular year is 68 followed by 72

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
It's certainly personal opinion. Cosmetically, '67 by far, but '71/2 had so many more available options and trim goodies that it's hard to ignore. I mean, in '67 big block, Longhorn, A/C, and (I think) 2-tone paint weren't available - to me those are all options that should be on the "quintessential" '67-72 pickup.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Funny as I know this is blasphemy... but I do not like the slant nose style of the '67-'68 rigs. '69-'72 for me on the hood design.

For me it's the 67's for all the subtle differences.

can't beat a 67 if you're considering the smooth lines. Those trucks are wonderful, imo, lightly optioned or not!

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I dont like the tapered hoods that much, I like my 72,but I mounted a rearview mirror from a 71 in it, dont like the glue on ones.I like the 69-70 grilles better, but I got a good deal on my 72..I really like the GMC front ends, wish I had one.....

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I stick to my first comment about the 67 cab but I think 4x4s look best from 71,72.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Sloped hood and the simple clean grill of the 67-68's seems to give these trucks an older, nostalgic look over the boxy hood and bulkier grills of the '69-'72's.
IMO, for a 2wd truck the short beds look rad and a lifted 4wd looks best in a long bed. |

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
My first truck was a 1969 CST and thought that was the best looking style.
Then I replaced it with a 72 Cheyenne Super 20 and liked that one even better. Then I bought a 68 K10 and liked that even better! Then realized I actually like all of them. |

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I've own several of these trucks, and I love them all. But I think the one I liked the best was my 70 GMC. Didn't like the brakes, it was fast but it was tough to slow it down.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
For 4wd, I like my 72. most modern incarnation of the truck plus the forward design hood IMHO looks better on 4wd trucks
For 2wd, I like the 68. My dad had a 68 (the truck that started it all for me)so I'm kinda partial to them. If I ever find the one I want it'll be lowered and I find the slant nose makes it look a little sleeker than the later hoods. |

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Probably a 71 for options. But personally I like my 69, my grandfather had one, my dad had one with 4 eyes, and now I'm the third generationin our family to have the exact same year truck that they grew up with

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Partial to 72's because that is what I rode around in growing up. Father had a K10 custom deluxe purchased new. Unfortunately it was totaled in a roll over. My first vehicle was a 72 K20 with a rod sticking out of the block. Put a motor into it in auto shop. Now have my current 72 purchased well over 10 years ago near my home town from the shop school teacher.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I grew up in my truck, a 1972. I think the "egg crate" grill is attractive but it is also very fragile.
All things being equal, I would have to say a 1967 is the most attractive all all the years. |

Still has the vintage dogleg windshield, but easy to update the suspension. Oh, I'm sorry. Were y'all just talking about late models? ![]() |

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
67 all the way. The sloped hood and small back window just make the step side look perfect. But I am biased. I have a 67 short step with a 72 highlander interior.
