engine angle question

hi all,how many degrees is too much?my engine seems to be sitting at 6 degrees.
i have poly engine and trans to bellhousing mounts.i'm not sure how i could shim
to lessen the angle.at the top of the carb it seems to be about a degree and a half.

Usually the goal is ~3* from between the tailshaft and diff. My assumption is that there is no cant in a transmission, so if your engine is 6* the tailshaft will be 6*. There should be some flex in the mounts, so I'd guess that the easiest solution would be to shim the transmission up a few degrees.

But other more knowledgeable people will likely chime in soon .

3-4* is about normal. Some intakes have a angle to the carb mount so you can just get this level and it puts it around that angle. To raise yours up, assuming you have clearance for the trans, figure out how much you need to lift the back of the trans to get the desired angle and then cut a piece of flat stock and put it between the trans and the mount.

well,i shimmed the trans up a bit but i don't think i'm going to reach the 4*goal
without getting too close to the cab floor.i am wondering if the prothane motor
mounts are a bit thicker than stock? anyone else run into this?

Not sure they are any thicker but I think they compress less that factory rubber ones.

what trans do you have?
what condition are your cab mounts and any rust concerns in your floor?

Trans is a t5,floor is pretty solid, Cab mounts are a bit soft and need to be replaced so that's a very good point !thanks for pointing that out
That could very well make the difference of the trans going up a little bit more
