1962 c10 possible purchase
Not sure if it's anyone's on here, but this fella has a 62 c10 custom cab for sale. Small window, factory 283 v8 four speed. Motor has what's left of orange paint which I know isn't the original color but he claims it's never been pulled or rebuilt. Rust in fenders and inner fenders, rockers, says non in supports but a small hole on driver side floor pan. Radio still works. Over 100,000 miles. He's asking 4,000 which seem high to me but wanted to check with the experts

$4000 is high around here for sure, That'd be a $2000 truck.

Great patina, I wouldn't feel bad spending 3K on it, it is a custom cab with aluminum grille after all.

Runs and drives? If so, then imo it's worth $2500-3000. With what LT1 noticed adds to its worth.
Around here it would be a $5k truck and sit for a while.

Re: 1962 c10 possible purchase
Says it was running and driving great before it was parked a couple years ago. With something like this I'm kind of a stickler on it being all original. An original survivor can only be original with its same parts imo. Or at least the same year motor. Maybe it was pulled and rebuilt and stuck back in and painted orange

Re: 1962 c10 possible purchase
That's an infamous craigslist sales blurb line- "Ran when parked". Remember, they always get parked for a reason. You should try to figure it out before paying $3500 or whatever for that truck.
The interior appears to have the OE paint and it's a Custom, that's the good part. There are too many bad/expensive possibilities with "ran when parked".
