If it has 5-bolt wheels, the truck is a '71

Check were the rear view mirror mounts to see if that area is raised, this is unique to 71's

IMO it looks a little rough for $1200, personally I don't care for the hack jobs, you never know what you are getting.

Well the way I am thinking of it is this. For my 69 I wanted to get PS, PB, convert to 5 bolt and discs, get a 350 for it.
It also needs a new cab and this one is in better shape in most places, and my box supports or finished but this one is still solid.

I figure it would be cheaper and less work for me to get something like this since most of what I want is there, fix the rockers and cab supports and cab corners, and use what even is still good on my truck on this one.

I could get a new cab and box from another source but I would have to travle about 5 hours each direction to get is and I still need to find a 350. THe wrecking yards around here don't have any, I have been checking.
If I don't let him know this week he is parking it at the road to sell it.

I could try for 1,000$ and see if the seller would take it.

I'm not that far from you. The truck was supposed to be from Alberta. So that could be why it is more solid than most around here, no salt over there in the winter.

You are right. Both Chevy and GMC used the sloped hood in '67 and '68. Both of those years, the Chevy hood had chrome "CHEVROLET" letters across the front. '67 GMC hoods had no emblems on them, as it said "GMC" in the crosshatch of the grille. '68 GMC hoods had the GMC letters on the front edge.
Then in '69, both switched to the blockier type hood.

Mmmm Hmmmm.....Suuuuuuurrre it is.....

The overload springs look different than the ones I have. For some reason, I don't remember mine having a bolt through the bottom. I thought they only bolted to the sides of the framerail, could be wrong though. Seems like a decent rig for the $$.

Dammit your gonna make me do some work aren't you. LOL

Does anyone know if those helpers would prevent me from lowering the rear with the 4" drop coils I have?? If not then I would keep them.
I first have to get the truck, I was looking at the pics and noticed the engine was painted blue wich is usually a 305 not a 350. I guess I will have to ask him for sure.

i believe the helpers are only usefull if the truck is at stock height. The more you lower the back end of the truck, the lower the spring gets until it makes contact with rubber stopper on the back of the trailing arms. These helpers would prevent you from lowering it. I want a pair for my flatbed project. The last thing I want is to finish my truck, go to the lumber yard and load up, only to find that my tires are rubbing on the bottom of the flatbed. These helpers are supposed to be good for another 500 lbs per side. PM me if you buy the truck and wanna sell them bud.

I believe this is true if you drop the rear end with springs. If you use blocks between the bottom of the axle and the top of the trailing arms, it won't change the height of the trailing arm to overload spring distance. You'll still have the same travel before you hit the overload (or before you smash your wheels up through your wheelwells in the bed if too low!).

I went to talk to the seller today again, and asked him about the engine since my pics it looks blue and he told me the owner said it was a 350. He is gonna get the title and I might have it by the weekend.

The cab does need work but it is all around more solid than mine and so is the box. Plus I don't have to convert my 69 over to 5 bolt, and add PS, PB and discs.

so I will save in the long run.

He also said it did run but it has been sitting for 2 years and he did say that I should probably rebuild the engine to get optimum performance out of it. He likes to rebuild cars for power, so it just may be good enough for now and get from point A to point B.

Well spring is near and I still didn't get that truck ( revived the post from back in November). But I am trying to get a hold of the guy now to see if he finally did get the ownership for it. I hope he did cause I may just HAVE to get this truck.

Hope he didn't raise his price, hehe.

if it's been sitting this long, I'd offer him $900-1000 and see if he'll take it. As long as it's been sitting there, he'll probably want to throw it at ya. My truck started out at $650 but then he dropped it to $300 after it didn't leave for 4 more months...
