Rust repair around floor pan / door channel area
I am not looking for a perfect repair on this, I know it should be cut out and a piece welded in, but I am not quite there with this truck at this point, my main goal is preventing further issues versus perfection. The previous owner had patched it by screwing down a piece of sheet metal. For now, I will put that back, but want to take care of the rust.
Aside from por 15, what other (possibly more readily available) products are there that you guys like that are similar? I plan to clean out that channel (where the door seal goes) and wire wheel any of the surface rust on the floor pan.... Any tips or tricks, especially with trying to clean up that channel, not so sure I will be able to find a wire wheel that will fit in there... |

Clean it good make sure it is clean [as can be] and dry then put a couple coats of epoxy primer in there until it can be cut out and replaced

Re: Rust repair around floor pan / door channel area
Do a search in the Paint and Body work section using the term Rust Removal. There are about 10 threads covering this topic.
As with all body and paint, the key is in the prep work and application. |
