Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever

hey guy's,
I'm trying to fix my seat, every time i want to move it I have to go around to the passenger side and use a hammer to get the pin to move. I don't have the parts that go from drive side to passenger. When ever i pull the lever it only disengages the driver side. does anyone have Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever pictures for a 68.
thanks ian

Here is what a '67 has. I'm not 100% sure '68 is the same but it should be close.

The first pic is the spring on the seat adjuster lever. The second is the attachment on the inside of the track, drivers side, the third is where the adjuster rod is supported in the center if the seat, the fourth is the inside of the pass. side track, and the fifth is the outside of the pass. side track.

Sorry about all the dirt...

Anyone know where to get some of the springs on the end of the pass side key (pic #4)?

Our local Ace Hardware store has a huge selection of springs.

Re: Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever

boy there are a lot of parts in that equation that I'm missing. I have the two keys that go into the tracks that lock and unlock the seat, but that's about it.

Re: Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever

.. wondering the same thing, is there a place to get some of these parts, like the springs? I will check the hardware store, but with not having the old spring it makes it kind of tough to get what I need.

Be sure and look under the seat good, a lot of times you will find them there.

Almost looks like you could get by in a pinch with an old brake shoe retention spring. The ones from the holddown pins.

I wish I could find a source for these springs, no one seems to sell them.

Re: Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever

I'm missing everything but the driver adjustment arm. I don't have the middle spring, the metal bar from driver to pass or the spring on the outside of the pass side. I'd also like to know where to get these.

Re: Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever

Bills truck shop out of Canada has what you need I think. My seat was missing the two small springs and retainer tabs for the springs and they are hard to find. When you grab the handle and move it...a lever moves the seat adjuster (unlocks) and the passenger side (with a wire), so the seat will move. This small spring lets the lever return to the locked position. The little metal retainer keeps the spring from flying off. He has them, I ordered two sets in case I broke one putting it on. Message me if anyone needs a picture of the part.

Re: Original bench seat adjustment spring and lever

I'm just amazed that there are actually people who want to move these seats FORWARD. LOL Heck, with my new seat foam, the steering wheel is almost touching my thighs/belly, so I'd love to have another 6" of movement BACKWARDS.
