Re: 68 C10 w/ no marker lights?
My 68 had markers on the corners but removed by PO. However I have an original cab with the rear view mirror on the cab ceiling and a foot e-brake not the hand brake. I often wonder if GM even kept up with this stuff.

That would be correct for a 69-71 cab.

Re: 68 C10 w/ no marker lights?
While doing rusty firewall and rusted out wiper motor mount repairs on a 69 GMC I had all the wire harness out from under the dash and straightened it all out before putting it back in.
With the plug for ignition switch melted and wired around, a toggle switch for the distributor, being changed to electronic ignition, and a single wire alternator I ended up taking the engine bay harness apart and started figuring out cut wires and rewires there also. In the process (related to this thread) I couldn't figure out all the little brown wires with no place to go. This is a 69 GMC Long Box and it has reflectors all around but appears the harness is partially wired for the lights. If your pickup has reflectors and you want lights, unwrap your harness and you should find wires to connect to. Also there is a 1969 C10 short step side Chevy in the yard, it has reflectors, wire harness is mostly gone though. It is a fairly original forest service truck. This all seems consistent with the other info about what years still had reflectors. The 2 wires over the green rag are the brown ones. I think I know where to go with the big red and the big green wires. |
