Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky
I may have missed this somewhere.
What is the total drop on the truck front and rear? Who's products did you use? |

The front is dropped 3.5 inches (2.5 inch drop spindles and 1 inch shorter spring). The rear is dropped 6 inches ( 2 inch blocks and 4 inch shorter springs). All on 20" wheels. I used CPP blocks, drop spindles & got the shorter springs from Southern Kentucky Classics. With this drop I had to get a bent pan hard bar, also from CPP as the stock straight one hit the rear end cover. I also used a CPP C-notch kit. Hope this helps.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky
Wrapping it up Got the headlight bezels in, washer jug, wipers, etc. Hopefully it's completed for awhile. Got it on the road and drove great. Even made my first show this past Sunday and took home best truck. I will keep this updated as I already have things I am wanting to add and modify, as we all know a truck is never truly finished.
I also ordered a shirt from the website and had it modified with my name and truck year on the back. SUPPORT THE WEBSITE. Couldn't have done all this without the help of everyones vasty knowledge.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky
Here are some pics from the first car show. Like I mentioned above took home Best Truck and my Dad took home Best of Show with his 55 Chevy Gasser. It was a good show. Typically it's just me and Dad, but my daughter and Fiance wanted to go for the first show as well.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky
I started with a search for gas tank relocation...... Saw your tank and had to see the entire rebuild. It was a great hour spent seeing your hard work and resources spent! ;-) Great Job!

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky
Great work on the truck love the detailRd work. If you dont mind me asking you a question. On your fuel tank do you run a rollover valve and a vent seperate? And if so where does your vent go? Thanks

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky
Rollover / Vent in same. The vent came off the back right hand corner top of the tank. Ran hose off side of frame rail and up into inner bed side which would be close to right rear marker lamp.
